ERP Sr. Solutions Director - Configurations

Role Purpose

The North America businesses of WPP have been evaluating replacement of their ERP solutions and have selected the Workday Financials product. They are now wanting to proceed with designing and deploying the selected solution.

The ERP Sr. Solutions Director, N.A. Configurations is responsible for:

  • Working in conjunction with the programme leadership to identify the in-scope systems and integrations to be migrated to the NA ERP
  • Functional analysis and design of the legacy solutions to be migrated to the NA ERP project of in scope businesses
  • Working in conjunction with SI partner to agree most effective and efficient functional design to be used for implementing the short-term and the long-term roadmap of the programme
  • Identify and agree on ERP team resource requirements to meet needs of the programme
  • Ensuring all work activities associated with the design, build, testing and implementation of the Workday configuration are correctly undertaken, audited and signed off
  • Work with the ERP Technical Director, N.A. to establish the BAU organisation to govern and maintain ERP standards and in the new system
  • Developing the long-term vision for ERP configuration and architecture, including resourcing approach utilising the best of both internal and 3rd party capabilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish configuration standards and disciplines including those required for programme management and governance
  • Establish and run the NA ERP system configuration and architecture governance
  • In conjunction with SI, establish the configuration and architecture strategy and plan for the new ERP for all in scope OpCos, including transition to BAU support
  • Work with the OpCo and other Project Sponsors and Workstream Leads to ensure programme objectives are being met and risks managed
  • Manage the local workstream teams including both IT, business and 3rd party to ensure that activities are operated with the right quality and to schedule
  • Ensure that appropriate and skilled resources for all local activities are in place in a timely manner to deliver the project
  • Establish expertise on configurations to deal with the complexity and scale of the NA legacy functional landscape
  • Work with the ERP Technical Director, N.A. to ensure delivery is executed according to plan and within budgetary constraints
  • Establish a BAU team to transition functional and configuration support activities to post go live and plan scale to deal with future updates, releases, deployments and implementations

Skill Requirements

  • Background in identifying, designing, building, testing, deploying across the full Workday Product Suite - Workday Financials, Workday HCM, etc.
  • Background in Workday configuration standards such as company hierarchies, supervisory organisations, foundation data model (FDM), account posting rules, etc.
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
  • Successful project and programme management workstream experience within a large, complex multi-site/ supplier environment and able to demonstrate a range of concluded projects/ programmes
  • A strong background in driving standards for workstreams and the associated functional configurations in an organisation of relevant size, complexity and scale
  • Finance / Services ERP functional background, ideally in the Media & Advertising or similar industries, with experience of local NA requirements
  • Confidence to provide inspirational leadership in challenging situations, able to influence executive level management and work under pressure
  • Proficiency in the principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of the configuration of all workstreams of one or more projects and related activities from initiation through to the successful achievement of planned business benefits
  • Proven track record in migrating large and complex implementations within a global and/or regional templated solution in a transformational environment
  • Highly motivated, flexible team player and manager with the ability to deliver in a timely and professional manner.
