Position Summary

The eLearning Specialist supports the eLearning service portfolio and third party integrations within NYU s Digital Learning Environment to serve the teaching and learning needs of the university. This role provides consultative and project-based support services for faculty in the use of eLearning applications. This position assesses the overall use of eLearning applications and helps guide strategic planning efforts. The eLearning Specialist is responsible for parts of an eLearning services portfolio.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's Degree in educational media, instructional technology or related field.Preferred Education:Master's Degree in educational media, instructional technology or related field strongly preferred.Required Experience:2+ years relevant professional experience in higher education.Preferred Experience:3+ years relevant professional experience in higher education.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Experience supporting faculty and students in the use of learning management systems such as Sakai, Blackboard, Moodle, and/or Canvas; audience response systems such as Turning Point and iClickers; web conferencing tools such as WebEx or Zoom; and lecture capture applications such as Panopto or Mediasite. Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to maintain high levels of creativity and quality. Ability to be flexible in work assignments that may require changing priorities regularly. Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet project deadlines, stay on track, and communicate workflow obstacles while working on multiple ongoing projects simultaneously with great efficiency and attention to detail. Self- starter with the ability to work in a team-based, fast-paced atmosphere with high standards for quality, accuracy, and innovation. Ability to be proactive, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and work with little supervision. A positive, cooperative attitude that supports the university and its mission.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Participating in the management of a portfolio of enterprise applications used to support teaching and learning in a higher education environment. Experience teaching college level courses.
